For direct hotel reservations, call 302-655-0400 or toll-free 180-222-8733 (US and Canada). Inform Reservations you will be attending The Gesneriad Society Convention 2016 (group code “GES”). Reservations can be made by phone, mail-in form, or on-line via web-based reservations.
Rate: $119 single/double/triple/quad
To guarantee convention rates, reservations must be received by June 13, 2016 (or earlier if our contracted room block has been filled before that date). Rooms are subject to Wilmington lodging tax (currently 10%). Check-in time is 3:00 p.m.; check-out time is 12:00 noon. Guest rooms include complimentary Wi-Fi, an ergonomic work space, and a mini-refrigerator. Anyone who wants to upgrade to the Executive Floor should call 1-302-655-0400 during normal business hours to request the upgrade, you must ask for the sales department or the administrative coordinator.
A cancellation fee of one night’s deposit will be charged if the hotel is not informed of a reservation cancellation at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled arrival. A $50 early departure fee may be assessed for departures prior to the confirmed departure date.
Transportation to Hotel
The Delaware Express is a good transportation option from the Philadelphia Airport (PHL) and they’ve given us a special rate of $30.75 for the first person on the reservation and $22 for each additional person on the same reservation. An 18% gratuity for the driver will be automatically added to your reservation.
Note that the price coming back to the airport from the hotel will be $2 less per person whether you make round-trip or one-way reservations. (The PHL airport levies a $2 fee for every person picked up at the airport.)

The van operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Please make your reservations for the shuttle at least 24 hours in advance. They would also like to have your cell phone number added as their first call option. If you book an arrival into PHL, they can text you when the driver is nearby.
A taxi from PHL to the Downtown Wilmington Doubletree will cost approximately $70.

From Points North: Take I-95 South into Delaware to Exit 7B (Delaware Avenue North). At the light, turn left onto Delaware Avenue. At the 2nd light there is a fork; bear right onto 10th Street. Turn right onto King Street. The hotel is 2 blocks away on the left.
From Points South: Take I-95 North into Delaware to Exit 7 (Rt. 52). Come up the ramp and go straight to the 4th traffic light. Make a right at the light onto Delaware Avenue. At the 1st light, there is a fork; bear right onto 10th Street. Turn right onto King Street. The hotel is 2 blocks away on the left.
From PHL:
Take I-95 South into Delaware. Take Exit 7B Delaware Avenue North. At the light, turn left onto Delaware Avenue. At the 2nd light, bear right at the fork onto 10th Street. Turn right onto King Street. The hotel is 2 blocks away on the left. (20 miles; 30 minutes)
Bus and/or Rail transportation may also be available, but those options generally leave from some point in Philadelphia that is away from the airport and will drop you off several blocks from the DoubleTree in Wilmington.
